Consumers who obtained an Albert Instant advance between Dec. 1, 2024, and Dec. 12, 2025, and paid an Instant transfer fee as an active-duty service member or the spouse or eligible dependent of one may be eligible to receive approximately $30 per eligible transaction from a class action settlement.
Albert Corp. and Albert Cash LLC agreed to pay $5.2 million to settle a class action lawsuit alleging violations of the Military Lending Act, Truth in Lending Act and Georgia Payday Lending Act related to their Albert Instant cash advance product.
Who are the class members?
Class members must meet all of the following criteria:
- They received an Albert Instant advance between Dec. 1, 2024, and Dec. 12, 2025.
- They paid an Instant transfer fee for that advance.
- At the time they obtained the advance, they were either:
- An active-duty service member OR
- The spouse or eligible dependent of an active-duty service member
If an individual received a notice about the settlement by email, mail or through the Albert app, it should confirm their status as a class member.
How much can class members get?
The settlement administrator will calculate payments on a pro rata basis, meaning it will divide the net settlement fund (after deductions for attorneys’ fees, costs and service awards) among all eligible class members based on their number of qualifying transactions.
The payment is estimated at $30 for every eligible Albert Instant transaction the class member made during the class period. The settlement administrator may adjust it depending on the total number of valid opt-outs and the number of eligible transactions.
The settlement administrator may issue a second payment if class members do not cash all initial checks. The amount of any second payment will depend on the remaining funds after the first round of payments.
No action needed to receive payment
Class members do not need to submit a claim to receive payment. Eligible class members will automatically receive their payment at the address on file with Albert. Those who prefer to receive their payment electronically or who need to update their address should visit the settlement website and follow the instructions for updating their information or selecting an electronic payment method.

The settlement administrator will distribute payments approximately 45 days after the court resolve any appeals and grants final approval of the settlement.
Why is there a class action settlement?
The class action lawsuit alleged Albert Corp. and Albert Cash LLC violated the Military Lending Act, Truth in Lending Act and Georgia Payday Lending Act by offering Albert Instant advances with improper disclosures and interest rates.
The companies denied all allegations but agreed to settle to avoid the costs and burdens of further litigation.
In addition to the monetary settlement, Albert Corp. and Albert Cash LLC agreed to refrain from assessing transfer fees on direct transfers of Albert Instant advances to active-duty service members or eligible dependents under the Military Lending Act for two years or until Sept. 30, 2027.
