Why is there a class action settlement?
The class action lawsuit alleged plaintiffs paid more for Juul products than they would have if the company provided accurate information about the products’ addictiveness and safety. The plaintiffs also claimed Juul unlawfully marketed the products to minors.
The defendants denied the allegations but agreed to settle to avoid the expense and uncertainty involved in continued litigation.
