The class action lawsuit alleged that Nutramax Laboratories Inc. and Nutramax Laboratories Veterinary Sciences Inc. misrepresented the benefits and effectiveness of certain Cosequin dog supplements in their advertising and packaging. The companies denied the allegations but agreed to settle to avoid the risk and expense associated with further litigation and a possible trial.
As part of the settlement, Nutramax agreed to remove specific statements from future product packaging, including “Mobility, Cartilage and Joint Health Support,” “Supports Mobility for a Healthy Lifestyle,” and “Use Cosequin to help your pet Climb stairs, Rise and Jump!”
