
Individuals who received a mailed notice stating a data breach at Erickson Cos. in November 2024 may have compromised their private information could be eligible to claim a cash payment from a class action settlement. The cybersecurity incident compromised the personally identifiable information of approximately 11,820 people.
Erickson Cos. LLC agreed to pay $225,000 to settle a class action lawsuit alleging negligent data security practices, breach of contract and statutory violations after unauthorized third parties potentially accessed the sensitive personal information of certain individuals.
Who can file a data breach claim?
Class members must meet the following criteria:
- The data breach discovered at Erickson Cos. on or around Nov. 18, 2024, potentially compromised their private information.
- They received a notice by mail before Aug. 28, 2025, regarding the data security incident.
How much is the class action settlement payout?
Class members can submit for one or both of the following:
- Cash payment A – Documented losses: Class members may submit a claim for up to $5,000 in documented out-of-pocket losses traceable to the data breach. Losses must not have been reimbursed by another source.
- Cash payment B – Flat cash payment: All class members can also submit a claim to receive a pro rata cash payment from the remaining settlement fund after the settlement administrator pays documented loss claims, attorneys’ fees, service awards and administrative costs. The administrator will determine the final payment amount by the total number of valid claims filed.

To receive a settlement payment, class members can file a claim online or download and print the PDF claim form to mail to the settlement administrator.

Required proof and claim information
- To submit a claim online or by mail, class members must provide the CPT ID and passcode from their settlement notice.
- To submit a documented losses claim, class members must provide supporting documentation, which may include credit card or bank statements showing fees and fraudulent charges, invoices, receipts, telephone or postal records and other proof of identity theft or fraud related to the data breach.

The $225,000 settlement fund will include:
- Settlement administration costs: Estimated at $25,000
- Attorneys' fees and expenses: Up to $60,000
- Service award to class representative: Up to $2,500
- Payments to approved claimants: Remaining settlement funds

When is the Erickson Cos. data breach settlement payout date?
