Current and former employees in the United States, and their spouses and dependents, whose personally identifiable information (PII) was potentially compromised in the DecoPac data breach announced in December 2024, may be eligible to submit a claim for up to $4,000 and credit monitoring from a class action settlement.
DecoPac Inc. has agreed to pay up to $400,000 to settle a class action lawsuit for alleged failures to protect consumer PII, following unauthorized access to sensitive information, including names and Social Security numbers. The data breach impacted approximately 2,860 current and former DecoPac employees, and their spouses and dependents
Who can file a data breach claim?
Class members are living individuals in the United States whose PII was potentially compromised in the data incident announced by DecoPac on or around Dec. 6, 2024.
How much is the settlement payout?
Class members have the following benefit options:
- Documented out-of-pocket losses: Class members can claim up to $4,000 for actual, unreimbursed expenses that are fairly traceable to the data breach. This may include bank or credit card fees, fees for credit reports, monitoring or identity theft insurance purchased between Dec. 6, 2024, and Feb. 5, 2026 and monetary losses due to fraud or identity theft not previously reimbursed.
- Flat cash payment: Class members that do not submit a documented out-of-pocket losses claim can submit to receive a flat payment of $95.
- Credit monitoring: All class members may elect to receive three years of credit monitoring services, which includes at least $1,000,000 in identity theft protection insurance.
The total amount available for cash payments to class members is capped at $400,000. If the sum of all valid claims exceeds the cap, payments will be reduced proportionally (pro rata).

Why is there a class action settlement?
This class action lawsuit was filed after DecoPac announced a data breach in December 2024 involving unauthorized access to or acquisition of PII in its possession. Plaintiffs alleged that DecoPac failed to adequately protect sensitive information, potentially exposing class members to identity theft and fraud.
DecoPac denies any wrongdoing but agreed to settle to avoid the expense and uncertainties of continued litigation.
