
Pharmaceutics International, Inc., a leading contract development and manufacturing organization in the pharmaceutical industry, recently disclosed a significant data breach involving sensitive personally identifiable information (PII).
The incident was reported to the Massachusetts Attorney General’s office on Dec. 23, 2025. The breach exposed a wide range of sensitive information, including full names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, current and previous addresses, government-issued identification cards, Social Security cards, pay stubs and W2 forms. So far, at least five resident of Massachusetts have been impacted. However, the investigation is ongoing and the number of impacted individuals is subject to change.
At this time, the company has not specified the exact method by which the breach occurred, nor has it attributed responsibility to a particular threat actor or cause. However, the range of data exposed makes this a severe incident with a high risk of identity-related crimes.
Immediately after learning of the incident, Pharmaceutics International, Inc. took steps to secure its systems and launched a comprehensive incident response. The company reviewed its security policies and procedures and is currently assessing its security measures to reduce the risk of similar events in the future. Relevant regulators have been notified as required by law. For those affected, the company is offering complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection services through Kroll.
