Anchor Computer, Inc., a provider of data processing and marketing services, recently experienced a significant data breach that affected thousands of individuals. The breach resulted in the exposure of personally identifiable information (PII), including names, full dates of birth and addresses, of at least 3,275 residents in Washington.

The incident was first detected on Sept. 12, 2025, when the company identified unauthorized access to its network environment. The breach specifically impacted individuals whose information Anchor Computer had received in connection with services performed on behalf of MacKenzie-Childs.

The company’s investigation, assisted by third-party forensic specialists, determined that an unauthorized third party may have acquired this sensitive data during the incident. The exposure of PII puts individuals at greater risk of identity theft and financial fraud.

On Dec. 4, 2025, Anchor computer disclosed the data breach to the Washington Attorney General’s office and began notifying impacted individuals my mail.

Anchor Computer's response

Upon discovering the breach, Anchor Computer immediately engaged external forensic experts to secure its systems and investigate the scope of the unauthorized activity. The company also notified law enforcement and has since implemented additional security measures to strengthen its network environment.

If you believe your personal information may have been compromised in this breach:

  • Carefully review any notice or communication you receive from Anchor Computer or a company that does business with Anchor Computer.
  • Monitor financial accounts and credit reports for signs of identity theft.
  • Consider placing fraud alerts or credit freezes with the major credit bureaus.
  • Be cautious of unsolicited emails or phone calls requesting personal information.

The company has also established a dedicated help line at 1-833-707-0407, available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET, to answer questions and provide support for 90 days following the notification.
