Consumers whose personal or health information may have been exposed in the April 2024 Ambulnz data breach may qualify to claim up to $4,500 from a class action settlement.

Ambulnz NY LLC, operating under the brand DocGo, agreed to pay $230,000 to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it failed to safeguard personal and health information, leading to an April 2024 cybersecurity incident.

Who is eligible for a DocGo payout?

Class members must meet the following criteria:

  • They reside in the United States.
  • Their personally identifiable information and/or personal health information was potentially exposed to unauthorized third parties as a result of the Ambulnz cybersecurity incident in or around April 2024.

How much is the data breach payout?

  • Ordinary losses: Up to $400 per claimant. Eligible expenses include unreimbursed bank fees, postage, gasoline for local travel and fees for credit reports, credit monitoring or identity theft insurance purchased as a result of the incident.
  • Lost time: $18.50 per hour for up to four hours (maximum $74)
  • Extraordinary losses: Up to $4,500 per claimant. The loss must have occurred between April 21, 2024, and the date of the settlement notice. Extraordinary losses must not be covered by ordinary losses or lost time.
  • Credit monitoring services: One year of free credit monitoring and identity protection services, including $1,000,000 in identity theft insurance.
  • Alternative cash benefit: In lieu of the above payments and benefits, class members may claim a one-time cash payment of $30 (if their Social Security or driver’s license number was implicated according to Ambulnz’s records) or $10 (if not).

How to claim an Ambulnz class action rebate

Class members can file a claim online or download, print and complete the PDF claim form to mail to the settlement administrator. The claim deadline is Sept. 15, 2025.

Proof and documentation required

  • All class members must provide the unique claim ID provided on the mailed or emailed settlement notice.
  • For ordinary and extraordinary losses, class members must provide supporting documentation, such as receipts, bank statements, police reports or other evidence of the loss and its connection to the data breach.
  • For extraordinary losses, class members must also show they made reasonable efforts to avoid or seek reimbursement for the loss.
  • For lost time, class members must describe the activities they performed.

Cybersecurity settlement fund breakdown

The settlement fund covers:

  • Attorneys' fees and expenses: Up to $230,000

  • Payments to eligible class members: The remainder of the fund

Ambulnz will pay settlement administration costs (to be determined) separately from the settlement fund.

When is the Ambulnz settlement payout date?

Payments will be distributed after the court grants final approval to the settlement and any appeals are resolved.

Why was there a class action settlement?

The class action lawsuit alleged a a cybersecurity incident at Ambulnz in April 2024 potentially exposed the personal and health information of certain individuals. The plaintiff claimed Ambulnz failed to adequately protect this information.

Ambulnz denies any wrongdoing but agreed to settle to avoid the costs and risks of ongoing litigation.
