
Customers who ordered and paid for food through the Grubhub or Seamless app or website between Jan. 24, 2019, and Jan. 12, 2026, for delivery to an address in California may be eligible to claim a $10 Grubhub site credit from a class action settlement.
Grubhub Inc. agreed to pay $5 million to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it made false or misleading statements regarding delivery fees, service fees and menu prices on its food delivery platform.
Who can file a claim?
Individuals must meet all of the following criteria:
- They ordered and paid for food through the Grubhub or Seamless app or website.
- They placed their order between Jan. 24, 2019, and Jan. 12, 2026.
- The delivery address was located within the state of California.
How much is the Grubhub payout?
The total value of all settlement awards is capped at $5 million. Each eligible class member who submits a valid claim will receive a $10 Grubhub site credit to be used for future orders on the Grubhub app or website. Grubhub will not charge sales tax on the value of the credit.
If the number of valid claims exceeds the available settlement fund, the settlement administrator will reduce the value of each payment proportionally.
How to claim a Grubhub site credit
Class members can file a claim online through the official settlement website. There is no PDF claim form available for download.
Those who do not want to file a claim online may contact the settlement administrator for further instructions. The claim deadline is May 12, 2026.

Required information
To log into the claim submission site, class members must provide the unique ID they received with their email notice from the settlement administrator. Those who lost or did not receive their notice may contact the settlement administrator in writing to obtain a unique ID.

When is the Grubhub delivery fee settlement payout date?
The settlement administrator will distribute credits approximately 60 days after the court resolves any appeals and enters the final approval order.
Why did this class action settlement happen?
The class action lawsuit alleged Grubhub made false or misleading statements about delivery fees, service fees and menu prices on its delivery platform. The plaintiffs claimed these practices were deceptive and violated consumer protection laws.
Grubhub denied all allegations and any wrongdoing. Both sides agreed to settle to avoid the costs and uncertainty of further litigation.
