What happened?
On Jan. 27, 2025, Roger Keith & Sons Insurance Agency discovered that an unauthorized actor had gained access to an employee email account and facilitated a phishing attack, gaining access to the company’s network environment through a remote desktop tool. A review confirmed on Oct. 6, 2025, that sensitive personal, health and financial information may have been accessed or acquired.
The agency published a notice of data security incident on its website on Oct. 29, 2025 and is notifying affected current and former clients by mail.

- Drivers license number
- Passport number
- Military or other U.S. government-issued identification number
- Mother's maiden name
- Credit or debit card number with access information
- Financial account number with access information
- Username and password
- Limited health-related information
The breach was reported to the Maine Attorney General and the Massachusetts Attorney General on Oct. 29, 2025. The total number of impacted clients has not been released.
