
The Fedcap Group Inc., a nonprofit organization that provides education, workforce development, health and economic development services to disadvantaged individuals, disclosed a data breach that may have exposed sensitive personal information.
The breach was reported to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation and the Vermont Attorney General on June 22, 2026. The company began mailing notification letter to affected consumers on June 18, 2026.
The Fedcap Group's notification letter informed affected individuals that an event occurred that may have involved their personal information; however, the letter did not provide details about when the event took place, how long it lasted or how it was discovered.
The types of personal information exposed in the breach included driver's license numbers and Social Security numbers.
At this time, the total number of people affected across the United States was not disclosed in the available filings.
The Fedcap Group is offering affected individuals 24 months of complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection services through Experian IdentityWorks.
To sign up, individuals can visit the Experian IdentityWorks enrollment page and enter the unique activation code included in their notification letter. Enrollment must be completed by Sept. 30, 2026.
