
Individuals who received a notice from Lucent Health Solutions regarding the October 2023 data breach may be eligible to submit a claim for up to $6,175 from a class action settlement. The cybersecurity incident compromised personal and protected health information belonging to approximately 37,000 people.
Lucent Health Solutions LLC agreed to pay $1.95 million to settle a class action lawsuit claiming a targeted cyberattack occurred in October 2023. The plaintiff alleged the company failed to adequately protect private information, resulting in unauthorized access to files containing personal data, such as names, dates of birth and health insurance details.
Who can file a claim for a data breach payout?
Class members are individuals whose PII and PHI the October 2023 Lucent Health data breach impacted, including those who received notice of the incident.
How much are settlement payments?
Class members have the following benefit options:
- Reimbursement for documented ordinary out-of-pocket expenses: Class members can claim up to $550 for out-of-pocket expenses that occurred between Oct. 2, 2023, and Sept. 5, 2026, and are related to the data breach. Eligible expenses include credit monitoring fees, costs to replace IDs or postage for contacting financial institutions.
- Reimbursement for documented extraordinary out-of-pocket expenses: Class members can claim up to $5,500 for losses due to identity theft or fraud traceable to the data incident and that other reimbursements do not already cover.
- Reimbursement for lost time: Class members can claim up to five hours of time spent dealing with the data breach at $25 per hour for a maximum $125. This includes changing passwords, researching the incident and investigating suspicious activity.
- Alternative cash payment: Class members who do not claim out-of-pocket expenses, extraordinary out-of-pocket expenses or lost time can submit a claim to receive a one-time $80 cash payment.
- CyEx Medical Shield Complete: All class members can elect to receive three years of medical identity monitoring. Services includes $1 million in medical identity theft insurance and monitoring for health care insurance ID exposure, medical record number exposure and unauthorized health savings account spending.

To receive a settlement payment, class members can file a claim online or print the PDF claim form to complete and mail or email to the settlement administrator.
