What Happened?
On Nov. 25, 2026, Precipio discovered that an unauthorized user had accessed an employee’s cloud-based storage account. The investigation revealed that the breach actually occurred on or around Nov. 23, 2025, and that certain files within the account were copied without authorization.
Precipio worked with third-party cybersecurity specialists to investigate and secure their systems, and federal law enforcement was notified. The incident was linked to a ransomware group known as INC RANSOM, which claimed to have obtained 150 GB of Precipio’s data and posted about the hack on the dark web on Dec. 2, 2025.
According to the disclosure posted to Precipio's website, the following types of consumer information may have been exposed in the breach:
Information Exposed:
- Names
- Addresses
- Medical record numbers
- Dates of birth
- Clinical or treatment information
- Medical procedure information
- Medical provider names
- Prescription information
- Health insurance information
Your Rights and Next Steps
If you received a notification from Precipio or believe you may have been affected, there are important steps you can take to protect yourself.
First, monitor your financial and medical accounts for any suspicious activity. You are entitled to one free credit report annually from each of the three major credit reporting bureaus: Equifax, Experian and TransUnion.
You have the right to place a fraud alert or a credit freeze on your credit file at no cost. A fraud alert requires businesses to verify your identity before issuing credit in your name, while a credit freeze restricts access to your credit report entirely.
If you suspect your information has been misused, consider filing a report with law enforcement and your state attorney general. The Federal Trade Commission also provides resources and encourages victims to report identity theft.
You May Be Entitled to Compensation
If your personal information was exposed in the Precipio data breach, you may be entitled to compensation. Lawyers are ready to help affected individuals understand their legal rights and pursue claims for damages related to the breach.
