Genesis Baking Company, launched in 2004, extends the group’s baking operations, while Metraco Transportation Company supports logistics.

What Happened?

On January 11, 2025, the New Horizons identified that an unauthorized actor had accessed and acquired files between Jan. 6 and Jan. 10, 2025. After a thorough investigation, completed by July 11, 2025, it was confirmed that personal information was compromised.

According to public disclosures, the breach affected 9,476 individuals in the United States, including at least one Maine resident. The company notified affected consumers by written notice on Aug. 28, 2025.

The types of information exposed in this incident include names and Social Security numbers.

Additionally, a ransomware group known as Cactus claimed responsibility for the attack, posting on the dark web on Feb. 20, 2025, and alleging to have obtained 455 GB of data, including personal and corporate files.
