Hogan Transports, a major transportation and logistics company headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, has disclosed a data breach that may have exposed consumers' sensitive personal information.

On or around Nov. 29, 2025, Hogan became aware of unusual activity on certain systems in its network. The company took steps to contain the activity and launched an investigation with the support of third-party cybersecurity specialists.

The investigation determined that the company's network was accessed without authorization at various periods between Oct. 25, 2025, and Nov. 29, 2025. During that window of time, certain files stored on the affected systems were accessed or copied.

Hogan conducted a comprehensive review of the impacted data to determine what information may have been involved and to identify the individuals whose data was at risk, which completed on or around March 31, 2026.

The types of personal information that may have been exposed include names, Social Security numbers, driver license or government-issued identification numbers and financial account information.

The breach was reported to the California, Maine and Vermont attorneys general. Hogan Transports began notifying affected consumers by written notice on May 8, 2026.

Steps to take if your information was exposed

  • Place a fraud alert or credit freeze. Contact any one of the three major credit bureaus to set up a fraud alert, or contact all three to place a credit freeze: Equifax (1-888-298-0045), Experian (1-888-397-3742) or TransUnion (1-833-799-5355).
  • Review credit reports for unfamiliar accounts or inquiries. Request free copies at AnnualCreditReport.com or by calling 1-877-322-8228.
  • Monitor bank and financial account statements closely. Because financial account information was involved in this breach, watch for unauthorized transactions and report any suspicious activity to the relevant financial institution right away.
  • Report suspected identity theft to the Federal Trade Commission. Visit IdentityTheft.gov or call 1-877-438-4338 to file a complaint and create a recovery plan, and review rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act through the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
