
Columbia Pacific Advisors LLC, a Seattle-based alternative investment management firm founded in 2006, disclosed a data breach in which an unauthorized third party gained access to certain systems within its network.
Columbia Pacific Advisors was the target of a cybersecurity event in which an unauthorized third party gained access to certain systems within its network. The company's investigation determined that certain information stored on those systems may have been viewed or taken without authorization on Nov. 28, 2025.
After discovering the event, Columbia Pacific Advisors launched an investigation and reviewed the potentially affected data to determine whether it contained sensitive personal information. On or about June 2, 2026, the review was completed.
The personal information that may have been exposed covers a broad range of sensitive data types including names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, driver's license numbers, passport numbers, U.S. alien registration numbers, taxpayer identification numbers and financial account information, health insurance policy or ID numbers and medical information. The breach also potentially exposed system access information, such as usernames, passwords and security question answers.
So far, 1,585 Washington residents, nine Massachusetts residents and one Vermont resident were affected. The company posted a notice about the incident on its website.
Columbia Pacific Advisors began sending written notification letters to affected individuals on or about June 12, 2026.
The company is offering complimentary credit monitoring and identity restoration services through Experian IdentityWorks to affected individuals.
