Why was there a class action settlement?
This class action lawsuit was filed because cybercriminals accessed York County School of Technology’s network and obtained private information of students, employees, and applicants. The plaintiff claimed that York failed to adequately protect this information, resulting in harm to those affected.
York Tech has denied any wrongdoing, but agreed to settle to avoid the risks and expense of continued litigation.
