Why was there a class action settlement?
The class action lawsuit alleged that Penske Media Corp. and its affiliates breached their contracts with lifetime subscribers by discontinuing print delivery and providing only a digital edition. Plaintiffs also claimed that this change violated the California Consumers Legal Remedies Act.
Penske Media Corp. denies any wrongdoing but agreed to settle to avoid the expense and uncertainty of further litigation.
