The Money Source Inc. $1.5M TCPA Class Action Settlement

Individuals who received a call on their cell phone from The Money Source between Feb. 6, 2019, and May 7, 2025, featuring a prerecorded or artificial voice after they had asked the company to stop calling may be eligible to receive a cash payment from a class action settlement.

The Money Source Inc. agreed to pay $1.5 million to settle a class action lawsuit alleging violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. The plaintiff claims the company made prerecorded or artificial voice calls to consumers’ cell phones after those consumers requested they stop.

Who is eligible for a TCPA settlement payout?

Class members must meet the following criteria:

• They received a call on a cellular number from The Money Source or an entity acting on its behalf.
• The call used an artificial or prerecorded voice.
• The Money Source or an entity acting on its behalf placed the call after the recipient requested it stop calling their cell phone as recorded in the company’s business records.
• The call occurred between Feb. 6, 2019, and May 7, 2025.
• The Money Source listed the phone number on the document TMS005442, which is part of its business records.

How much are settlement payments?

Pro rata cash payment: Eligible class members will receive a pro rata cash payment from the net settlement fund for each qualifying call.

The estimated payment per call is $286. The settlement administrator will determine the final payment amount by the number of eligible class members and the total number of qualifying calls.

No claim form required

Class members do not need to submit a claim form to receive a settlement payment. The settlement administrator will ask anyone receiving a settlement payment of more than $2,000 to provide a completed IRS W-9 form prior to receiving their payment.

Settlement fund breakdown

The $1,500,000 settlement fund will include:

• Settlement administration costs: Up to $10,000
• Attorneys’ fees: Up to $500,000
• Attorneys’ expenses: Up to $17,000
• Service award to the plaintiff: Up to $15,000
• Payments to eligible class members: Remaining settlement funds

• Final fairness hearing: Nov. 16, 2026
