Metropolis Technologies $6.5M Parking Class Action Lawsuit

Individuals who paid for parking at a Metropolis lot in Tennessee between July 1, 2021, and Jan. 6, 2026, and whom the company wrongfully overcharged, ticketed or booted may be eligible to claim a cash payment from a class action settlement.

Metropolis Technologies Inc. agreed to pay $6.5 million following an investigation by the Tennessee attorney general that alleged the company's advertising, pricing and enforcement practices for parking services in Tennessee may have violated the Tennessee Consumer Protection Act.

Who can file a claim?

Eligible class members must meet all of the following criteria:

  • They paid for a parking session at a Metropolis parking lot in Tennessee between July 1, 2021, and Jan. 6, 2026.
  • Metropolis wrongfully overcharged, ticketed or booted them during that session.
  • They have not previously received a full refund from Metropolis for that parking session.

The settlement administrator identified class members using Metropolis’ records and sent them notices with a claimant ID and access code; however, those who did not receive a notice but qualify can also submit a claim.

How much is the class action settlement payment?

Eligible consumers may receive a payment equal to the amount Metropois overcharged or penalized them if they have not already received a full refund. The amount each eligible class member can receive depends on the number of valid claims and the specific circumstances of their overcharge, ticket or booting incident.

The exact payout will depend on the total number and value of valid claims class members submit. If the total amount of approved claims exceeds the available fund, the settlement administrator may reduce payments proportionally (pro rata).

Tennessee Parking Program eligible parkers can also receive a promotional code redeemable for up to $15 in free parking credit at TPP participating lots. Each eligible parker can use this promotional code up to two times for a total value of up to $30 in free parking.

Class members must submitted claims electronically using the online claim form. There is no option to file a claim by mail.

The claim deadline is Oct. 9, 2026.
