Plainridge Park Casino rewards card members who played at the casino between Aug. 25, 2017, and Nov. 30, 2023, after visiting the casino in the previous two years may qualify to receive approximately $21.50 from a class action settlement.
Plainville Gaming and Redevelopment LLC, doing business as Plainridge Park Casino, agreed to pay $4,175,000 to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it failed to provide rewards card members with monthly statements of their total bets, wins and losses or notices explaining how to obtain this information as required by Massachusetts law.
Who are the class members?
Class members must meet all of the following criteria:
- They were members of Plainridge Park Casino’s rewards card program.
- They gambled at Plainridge Park Casino, located at 301 Washington St., Plainville, MA 02762, between Aug. 25, 2017, and Nov. 30, 2023.
- They played at the casino at least once in the two years before any of their visits during the class period.
The settlement administrator used the casino’s records to identify class members and sent them a postcard or email notice. There are about 130,000 class members.
How much can class members get?
The total settlement fund is $4,175,000. The settlement administrator will deduct attorneys’ fees, administration costs and service awards to the lead plaintiffs before distributing payments to class members.
Each eligible class member can receive an award of approximately $21.50 calculated by dividing the net settlement fund among the estimated 130,000 class members. All eligible class members will receive the same award amount.
If any class member does not claim their award within 90 days of issuance, the settlement administrator will donate their share to a Massachusetts non-profit focused on problem gambling.
No action needed to receive payment
Class members do not need to file a claim to receive payment. If the court grants final approval of the settlement, they will automatically receive their award.
Class members can select their preferred payment method via a secure portal on the settlement website after final approval. If they do not select a payment method within 30 days of final approval, the administrator will choose the most appropriate method.
Class members who need to update their contact information or have questions can contact the settlement administrator at Katopodis, et al. v. Plainville Gaming and Redevelopment LLC c/o Kroll Settlement Administration LLC, P.O. Box 225391, New York, NY 10150-5391 or 833-630-5412.

Why is there a class action settlement?
The class action lawsuit alleged Plainridge Park Casino failed to provide rewards card members with monthly statements of their total bets, wins and losses or notices about how to obtain such information as required by Massachusetts law.
The casino denied the allegations and maintained that it complied with all legal requirements. Both sides agreed to settle to avoid the expense and uncertainty of continued litigation and to provide compensation to class members more quickly.
