Consumers who purchased Menards-branded Performax or Masterforce bonded abrasive wheels at retail in the United States or its territories between June 10, 2018, and April 22, 2026, may be eligible to claim up to $50 or receive up to five replacement wheels from a class action settlement.
Menard Inc., along with Disston Co. and Gino Development, agreed to pay up to $775,000 to settle a class action lawsuit alleging they failed to provide adequate disclosures about the expiration dates on certain bonded abrasive wheels sold under the Menards brands.
Who can file a claim?
Class members are individuals or entities who purchased one or more Performax or Masterforce bonded abrasive wheels at retail (not wholesale or for resale) in the United States or its territories between June 10, 2018, and April 22, 2026.
There are two main categories for claimants:
- Without proof of purchase: Eligible for replacement wheels (up to five per household)
- With proof of purchase: Eligible for a cash payment equal to the purchase price up to a maximum of $50
The settlement is open to individuals, businesses and other entities that meet the criteria above.
How much can class members get?
- Without proof of purchase: Class members may claim one replacement Performax or Masterforce bonded abrasive wheel per unit purchased up to a maximum of five wheels per household. The settlement caps the total value of replacement wheels at $275,000 with each wheel valued at approximately $3. If the number of claims exceeds the available supply, the settlement administrator will reduce distributions proportionally so each claimant receives at least one wheel.
- With proof of purchase: Class members who submit proof (such as an itemized receipt or credit card statement) showing they purchased the covered products can receive a cash payment equal to the total purchase amount up to a maximum of $50 per claimant. Even if receipts show more than $50 in purchases, the maximum payout is $50.
How to claim a class action rebate
Class members can file the online claim form or download and print the PDF claim form, complete it and mail it to the settlement administrator. The claim deadline is July 7, 2026.

Why is there a class action settlement?
The class action lawsuit alleged Menard Inc., Disston Co. and Gino Development failed to provide adequate disclosures about the expiration date on certain bonded abrasive wheels.
The companies deny all liability but agreed to settle to avoid the cost and distraction of further litigation. As part of the settlement, the companies will also add clearer expiration date markings to the products, update their websites and product literature to explain the importance of expiration dates, and implement these changes for all new covered products.
