
Employees who worked as hourly customer service representatives for Morley Cos. Inc. between April 26, 2021, and Nov. 11, 2024, and worked at least 40 hours in one or more workweeks may be eligible to claim a cash payment from a class action settlement.
Morley Cos. Inc. agreed to pay $900,000 to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it failed to properly pay overtime and other wages to hourly customer service representatives in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act and Michigan wage laws.
Who can file a claim?
Class members include hourly customer service representatives Morley Cos. employed at any time between April 26, 2021, and Nov. 11, 2024, who worked at least 40 hours in one or more workweeks during the relevant period.
The settlement administrator identified eligible individuals using Morley’s payroll records and sent notices to those who qualify.
How much can class members receive?
The total amount available to eligible class members is $543,676.40, which is the net settlement amount after deductions for attorneys’ fees, litigation costs, administrative expenses and a service award to the lead plaintiff. Each eligible class member’s payment is based on the number of weeks they worked as a customer service representative during the relevant period.
The calculation for each share is: net settlement amount / total number of workweeks all eligible class members worked during the relevant period
The calculation for each individual payment is: (number of individual workweeks x the value of one share) - applicable taxes
The settlement administrator will split each payment 50% as wages (reported on IRS Form W-2) and 50% as statutory liquidated damages (reported on IRS Form 1099). Class members are responsible for any taxes owed on their settlement payment.
How to claim a class action payout
Class members can file a claim online or download, print and complete a PDF claim form (Page 17 of the settlement agreement) to submit by mail or email.

Payout options
Eligible class members who submit a valid claim will receive payment by check. They have 60 days to cash the check after the settlement administrator issues it. The defendant will receive any uncashed funds.
