
Individuals who owned or operated a restaurant in Chicago that DoorDash or Caviar listed on their platform(s) without a contract between Aug. 27, 2019, and Nov. 14, 2025, may be eligible to claim up to $2,500 from a class action settlement.
DoorDash agreed to settle a City of Chicago lawsuit alleging it listed certain Chicago-based restaurants on its DoorDash and Caviar marketplaces without a contractual relationship.
Who can file a claim?
Restaurants must meet all of the following criteria:
- They must have nine or fewer locations in the City of Chicago all operating under a common business name.
- The DoorDash or Caviar marketplaces listed them without a contractual relationship at any time between Aug. 27, 2019, and Nov. 14, 2025.
- They do not have a current contractual agreement with DoorDash or Caviar to be listed on either marketplace.
- Their business name and address appear as the recipient of the official notice of eligibility for payment.
How much can class members get?
Pro rata payment: Eligible restaurants that submit a valid attestation form will receive an equal share of the settlement fund with a maximum payment of $2,500 per restaurant. The exact amount each restaurant will receive depends on the number of valid claims submitted and the total settlement fund available.
How to claim a DoorDash payment
Eligible restaurants can submit an online attestation form. Those who prefer to submit their claim by mail may contact the settlement administrator for further instructions.

If a business has multiple locations, it should only use one unique ID and PIN to submit an attestation for all locations under the same business name.
Required information
To file an online attestation form, claimants must enter their unique identifier and PIN, which are located at the top of the settlement notice they received via email or mail.

When is the City of Chicago v DoorDash payout date?
The settlement administrator will issue payments to eligible restaurants by the end of June 2026.
Why is there a settlement?
