Silverado Contractors Inc. is a union demolition and excavation contractor, in operation since 2000. The company is headquartered in Oakland, California, and serves clients throughout the West Coast with branch offices in Los Angeles and San Jose.

Silverado Contractors specializes in a wide range of demolition and excavation services for private developers, general contractors, industrial clients and public works projects. The company has completed more than 800 projects, including high-profile demolitions like Candlestick Park and the 6th Street Bridge in Los Angeles.

What happened?

On Dec. 30, 2024, Silverado Contractors became aware of technical issues within its network. An investigation took place and determined that a cyberattack had taken place on Dec. 18, 2024. A threat actor, later identified as the LYNX ransomware group, infiltrated Silverado's internal systems and acquired files containing sensitive information.

The LYNX ransomware group posted sample screenshots of the stolen data on their dark web portal hosted on the Tor network. The total number of affected individuals has not been released, but includes current and former employees. Silverado Contractors began notifying affected individuals by mail on Nov. 4, 2025.

  • Health insurance information

The data breach was also disclosed to the California Attorney General's office on Nov. 5, 2025.
