Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program, a nonprofit health care organization headquartered at 780 Albany St. in Boston, has disclosed a data breach that has so far impacted 553 Texas residents and 169 Vermont residents.

On Nov. 11, 2025, BHCHP first became aware of a disruption on its network. BHCHP initiated an investigation, bringing in outside cybersecurity experts to assist in determining the full scope of the incident and what data may have been affected.

Through the course of that investigation, BHCHP determined that certain files on its network may have been accessed or acquired by an unauthorized party. The organization then undertook a comprehensive review of those files to identify what personal information they contained and which individuals were affected, which concluded on June 8, 2026.

The types of information exposed included names, Social Security numbers, credit and debit account information, financial account codes, government identification numbers, health records, medical information and health insurance information.

The breach was additionally disclosed to the California Attorney General. BHCHP began notifying affected individuals by U.S. mail on Aug. 7, 2026.

Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program's response to the breach

The organization is offering affected individuals 12 months of free credit monitoring services through Cyberscout, a TransUnion company.

To enroll in the free monitoring, affected individuals can visit the Cyberscout enrollment page and enter the unique enrollment code included in their notification letter. Enrollment must be completed within 90 days of the date of the letter.

BHCHP is also providing proactive fraud assistance through Cyberscout for anyone who has questions or who becomes a victim of fraud as a result of this incident. Affected individuals can reach the dedicated call center at 1-866-898-9670, available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern time, excluding holidays.
