US Tiger Securities Inc., a U.S.-based broker-dealer registered with FINRA and affiliated with TradeUP Securities Inc., has disclosed a data breach that affected approximately 26,985 people in the United States.

The breach affected 1,417 Texas residents, 17 Vermont residents and 31 Maine residents. The breach was also reported to the California Attorney General.

A forensic investigation determined that an unauthorized party copied files from the company's virtual environment between July 8 and July 9, 2025.

The investigation also found that the TradeUP production environment was not breached. According to the notification, this environment is segmented from the shared back-office systems, and customer-facing trading operations were not affected by the incident.

The personal information exposed in the breach included names, addresses, Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, government-issued identification numbers (such as passports and state ID cards), medical information and health insurance information.

The company conducted a detailed review of the affected data to determine which individuals' information was contained in the copied files. That review was completed on April 17, 2026.

Steps to take if your information was exposed

  • Place a credit freeze with all three credit bureaus. Contact Equifax (1-800-685-1111), Experian (1-888-397-3742) and TransUnion (1-833-799-5355) to prevent new accounts from being opened using stolen information.
  • Review free credit reports at AnnualCreditReport.com and look for any accounts or activity that seems unfamiliar.
  • Consider placing a fraud alert with one of the three credit bureaus, which will notify the other two so that businesses verify identity before opening new accounts.
  • Monitor health insurance statements for unfamiliar claims or services, since medical and health insurance information were exposed in this breach.
  • Report suspected identity theft to the Federal Trade Commission at IdentityTheft.gov or by calling 1-877-438-4338.
  • Watch for phishing attempts that reference US Tiger Securities or this data breach by name, as scammers may try to use the incident to trick people into sharing additional personal information.
