Lennar Mortgage Data Breach Affects 348k Nationwide

Lennar Mortgage LLC, a mortgage lender and subsidiary of Lennar Corp., a homebuilder company, disclosed a data breach that was discovered in June 2026. The breach affected a total of 348,416 individuals across the United States, includingat least 60,526 residents of Texas, 11,417 of Washington and 674 of Massachusetts.

On June 1, 2026, Lennar Mortgage became aware of suspicious activity on its network. An unauthorized party had used sophisticated social engineering tactics to gain access to some of Lennar Mortgage's information systems.

The unauthorized access took place over a seven-day period, beginning May 26, 2026, and continuing through June 1, 2026. The company then began an investigation to assess the types of sensitive personal information that may have been compromised in the incident.

Based on the assessment, which concluded on Aug. 4, 2026, the types of information that may have been exposed included names, contact information, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, passport or other government ID numbers, driver's license or state ID numbers and financial account information and medical-related information.

Lennar Mortgage posted a notice about the privacy event on its website, as well as filed an additional disclosure with the attorney general of California.

Lennar Mortgage's response to the breach

The company is providing two years of identity monitoring to affected individuals at no cost through Kroll. Affected individuals have until Nov. 20, 2026, to activate and begin using these services.

The company additionally encouraged affected individuals to remain vigilant for the possibility of fraud.
