KTUA Data Breach

The March 22, 2024 Data Breach

On March 22, 2024, KTU&A Planning & Landscape Architecture experienced a significant data security incident that resulted in the unauthorized access to personal information of numerous individuals. The breach was promptly identified, and measures were taken to secure the systems and mitigate any potential harm. This incident has raised concerns about the security measures previously in place and has prompted a thorough investigation.

Information Exposed

The following types of consumer information were exposed during the data breach:

  • Names
  • Social Security Numbers
  • Dates of birth
  • Addresses
  • Driver's license numbers
  • Credit information

KTU&A Planning & Landscape Architecture's Response

In response to the breach, KTU&A has taken several steps to address the situation and assist those affected. The company has partnered with IDX, a data breach and recovery services expert, to offer complimentary credit monitoring and identity theft protection services to all impacted individuals. These services include 24 months of credit and CyberScan monitoring, a $1,000,000 insurance reimbursement policy, and fully managed identity theft recovery services.

Affected individuals are encouraged to enroll in these services by June 22, 2024, to take full advantage of the protections offered. For more details and to enroll, please visit IDX's enrollment page.

Steps to Take if You Are Affected

If you believe your information was compromised in this breach, there are several actions you can take to protect yourself:

  1. Enroll in the complimentary credit monitoring and identity theft protection services offered by IDX.
  2. Place a security freeze on your credit reports by contacting each of the three major consumer reporting agencies: Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. This will prevent credit, loans, and services from being approved in your name without your consent.
  3. Obtain a copy of your credit report from Annual Credit Report to check for any unauthorized activity or transactions.
  4. Stay vigilant and monitor your financial statements and accounts for any signs of unauthorized transactions. If you detect any, report them immediately to your financial institution.
  5. Consider placing a fraud alert on your credit reports to warn creditors that you may be a victim of identity theft.
