On March 20, 2025, HopeHealth Inc. discovered suspicious activity within its network environment. The organization immediately launched an investigation with the help of legal counsel and third-party forensic specialists.

Their investigation determined that an unauthorized individual had accessed and potentially copied sensitive data from HopeHealth’s systems between March 19 and March 20, 2025. After a comprehensive review of the affected data, HopeHealth finalized its analysis on July 2, 2025.

According to the notice filed with the South Carolina Attorney General, the breach impacted 1,625 individuals in South Carolina. The exposed information includes names, addresses, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, medical information, health insurance information, financial account information, driver’s license numbers, passport numbers and credit card information.

The severity of this breach is significant due to the sensitive nature of the information accessed, including Social Security numbers and medical data. The breach was the result of unauthorized access by an individual outside the organization, though there is no indication at this time of who was responsible or how the initial intrusion was accomplished.
