Who is eligible for a Red Roof Inn payout?
Class members must have received a notification letter from Red Roof Inn in or around December 2023 stating that their personal information was or may have been compromised in the September 2023 data incident.
How much is the data breach payout?
- Pro Rata Cash Payment: All class members may claim a pro rata cash payment capped at $100. The actual amount will depend on the number of valid claims submitted.
- Reimbursement for Out-of-Pocket Losses: Class members who experienced financial losses directly linked to the data breach may claim up to $10,000 reimbursement for those losses.
How to claim a Red Roof Inn class action rebate
To receive a settlement payment, class members can file a claim online or download, print, complete and mail the PDF claim form to the settlement administrator. The claims deadline is July 7, 2025.

Required proof and documentation
- For online claims, class members must provide the Class Member ID provided on the notice they received.
- For out-of-pocket losses, claimants must provide documentation, such as receipts, statements or other proof of the expenses incurred as a result of the data incident. This includes:
- Unreimbursed costs due to identity theft or fraud, falsified tax returns or misuse of personal information
- Costs incurred on or after Sept. 21, 2023, for purchasing or extending credit monitoring or identity theft protection services or for accessing/freezing/unfreezing credit reports
- For credit monitoring or identity theft protection claims, class members must provide proof of purchase dated between Sept. 21, 2023, and July 7, 2025.
- Miscellaneous expenses such as notary, postage and mileage
