
Individuals who participated in an affiliate commission program and transaction with an online merchant that also partnered with Capital One Shopping between Jan. 6, 2020, and Dec. 18, 2025, may be eligible to claim up to the full amount of commissions Capital One Shopping received for certain transactions or a flat $20 payment from a class action settlement.
Capital One Financial Corp., Wikibuy LLC and Wikibuy Holdings LLC agreed to settle a class action lawsuit alleging they improperly received affiliate marketing commissions that class members should have received.
Who can file a claim?
Class members must meet all of the following criteria:
- They are a person or entity in the United States.
- They participated in an affiliate commission program with an online merchant that also partnered with Capital One Shopping.
- Their participation occurred between Jan. 6, 2020, and Dec. 18, 2025.
- They participated in a transaction in which Capital One Shopping was also involved.
There are two types of payments available, depending on the claimant’s circumstances:
- Proof payment: For those who can show qualifying transactions posted on or after Nov. 1, 2023, in Capital One Shopping’s data
- Alternative payment: For those whose affiliate data is only associated with transactions posted before Nov. 1, 2023, or who do not qualify for a proof payment but can show their identifiers appear in Capital One Shopping’s data
How much is the Capital One payout?
The amount each class member can receive depends on the type of claim submitted and the supporting documentation provided. Class members can claim one of the following:
- Proof payment: Those who can demonstrate that they have one or more qualifying transactions in Capital One Shopping’s data will receive the greater of:
- The amount of commission Capital One Shopping received for all qualifying transactions posted on or after Nov. 1, 2023, or
- The alternative payment ($20)
- Alternative payment: Those who do not qualify for a proof payment but can show their identifier is present in Capital One Shopping’s data will receive a flat $20 payment.
How to claim a class action payment
Class members can file the online claim form or download, print and complete the PDF claim form and mail it to the settlement administrator. The claim deadline is April 17, 2026.

What proof or documentation is necessary to submit a claim?
All claimants must supply details sufficient to show they have a qualifying transaction in Capital One Shopping’s data. Examples of such details include:
- Trade name
- Publisher ID
- Affiliate ID
- URLs (short or long form)
- Click IDs
The settlement administrator will only search for the identifiers the class member provides so class members must be thorough and accurate.
Claimants must provide documentation sufficient to prove ownership of the identifiers (affiliate IDs, publisher IDs, affiliate links, etc.) associated with the claim. Acceptable documentation includes:
- Screenshots of online dashboards on affiliate network websites
- Payment reports showing commissions earned
- Contracts with affiliate networks
- Correspondence from affiliate networks showing the relevant IDs or relationships
- Bank statements showing deposits from affiliate networks
- Sworn declarations attesting to ownership
Claimants must also provide their Social Security number, taxpayer identification number or employer identification number.
The settlement administrator may request additional proof if needed. Failure to provide sufficient documentation may result in claim denial or delay.

Settlement fund breakdown
The settlement fund includes
- Settlement administration costs: To be determined
- Attorneys’ fees and costs: Up to $3.95 million
- Settlement class representative service awards: Up to $10,000 each for five representative ($50,000 total)
- Payments to eligible class members: Dependent on number of claims

- Final approval/fairness hearing: June 10, 2026
When is the Capital One Shopping settlement payout date?
The settlement administrator will distribute payments approximately 60 days after the court resolves any appeals and grants final approval of the settlement.
Why is there a settlement?
The class action lawsuit alleges Capital One Financial Corp., Wikibuy LLC and Wikibuy Holdings LLC received affiliate marketing commissions that should have gone to class members. The plaintiffs claim Capital One Shopping’s receipt of these commissions may have been inconsistent with industry standards.
The defendants deny any wrongdoing. The parties agreed to settle to avoid the costs, risks and delays of further litigation.
