LifeStance Health $3M Pixel Tracking Class Action Settlement

Current and former LifeStance Health Group patients, including those who booked at least one session using the LifeStance online booking tool on lifestance.com between March 1, 2020 and April 30, 2023, may be eligible to claim a cash payment from a class action settlement.

LifeStance Health Group Inc. agreed to pay $3,027,874.44 to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it used third-party tracking technologies, also known as pixels, on its public website to collect and disclose personal patient information to third parties without authorization.

Who can file a claim for a pixel tracking settlement payout?

Class members must meet one of the following criteria:

• Settlement subclass 1: All patients who booked at least one session through LifeStance’s online booking tool on lifestance.com between March 1, 2020, and April 30, 2023
• Settlement subclass 2: All other LifeStance patients between March 1, 2020, and April 30, 2023, who did not use the online booking tool

How much are settlement payments?

• Pro rata cash payment: All class members can submit a claim to receive a pro rata cash payment from the net settlement fund for their specific class. The settlement administrator will determine the final payment amount by the number of claims filed.
• Settlement subclass 1 settlement fund: $1,203,405.00
• Settlement subclass 2 settlement fund: $1,824,469.44

How to claim an award

To receive a settlement payment, class members can file a claim online or print the subclass 1 PDF claim form or subclass 2 PDF claim form to complete and mail to the settlement administrator.

The claim deadline is Sept. 29, 2026.

Required claim information

To submit a claim online, class members must provide the notice ID and confirmation code from the settlement notice. To submit a claim by mail, class members only need to submit the notice ID.

Settlement fund breakdown

The settlement fund of $3,027,874.44 will include:

• Settlement administration costs: To be determined
• Attorneys’ fees: Up to $999,198.56
• Service awards to class representatives: Up to $2,500 each
• Payments to approved claimants: Remaining settlement funds

Important dates

• Deadline to request exclusion: Aug. 31, 2026
• Deadline to file a claim: Sept. 29, 2026
• Final approval hearing: Oct. 16, 2026

When is the LifeStance Health pixel tracking settlement payout date?

The settlement administrator will issue payments approximately 60 days after the court grants final approval of the settlement.

Why did LifeStance Health agree to settle?

The class action lawsuit alleged LifeStance Health Group used third-party tracking technologies (pixels) on its public website, which collected and disclosed patients’ personally identifiable information to third parties, including Meta and Google, without consent. LifeStance denies the allegations but agreed to settle to avoid the expense and risk of further litigation.

As part of the settlement, LifeStance Health agreed to discontinue use of non-HIPAA-compliant tracking pixels for five years.
