Drivers who worked for J.B. Hunt Transport Inc. and used a Lytx inward-facing camera in Illinois between Nov. 8, 2018, and May 4, 2025, may be eligible to claim approximately $135 from a class action settlement.

J.B. Hunt Transport Inc. agreed to pay $976,276 to resolve a class action lawsuit alleging violations of the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act. The lawsuit claimed J.B. Hunt collected biometric data, such as facial geometry scans, from employees using Lytx inward-facing cameras in company vehicles without providing the required written disclosures or obtaining written consent.

Individuals must meet all of the following criteria:

  • J.B. Hunt Transport Inc. employed them.
  • They used a Lytx inward-facing camera technology in connection with their employment at any time between Nov. 8, 2018, and May 4, 2025.
  • They had a recorded occurrence in the Illinois.

How much can class members receive?

The total settlement fund is $976,276. Each eligible class member who submits an approved claim will receive an equal cash payment from the settlement fund. The estimated payment is approximately $135 per class member after deductions for attorneys’ fees, administrative costs and service awards to the lead plaintiffs.

How to claim a settlement payout

Class members can submit an online claim form or download, print, complete and mail the PDF claim form to the settlement administrator. They can also call the settlement administrator to request a paper copy of the claim form. The claim deadline is Dec. 8, 2025.

Required information

To file an online claim, class members must provide the notice ID and PIN from the settlement notice they received. Those who are unable to locate their ID and PIN should contact the settlement administrator by emailing info@JBHuntBIPASettlement.com and providing their full name and mailing address.

Payout options

  • The settlement administrator will mail payments by paper check to the address provided on the claim form.
  • Checks will expire and become void 90 days after issuance.
