Individuals who received a notice stating the November 2025 data breach at Brandt Equities LP may have involved their personal information could be eligible to claim up to $3,580 and/or credit monitoring from a class action settlement.

Who can file a claim?

Class members are living individuals residing in the United States who received notice from Brandt Equities LP stating the November 2025 data incident may have involved their private information.

How much can class members receive?

Class members may be eligible for the following benefits:

  • Cash payment for documented losses: Class members who experienced actual, documented out-of-pocket losses that are fairly traceable to the data incident (such as costs related to identity theft, credit monitoring fees or replacing IDs) can claim up to $3,500. The losses must have occurred between Nov. 8, 2025, and Dec. 17, 2026.
  • Cash payment for lost time: Class members who spent time addressing issues the data breach caused (such as by changing passwords or contacting banks) can claim up to four hours of lost time at $20 per hour for a maximum of $80.
  • Credit monitoring: All class members can enroll in two years of CyEx Identity Defense Complete at no cost. This service provides comprehensive identity protection features, including $1 million in identity theft insurance, real-time credit file monitoring, dark web scanning and public records monitoring.

If the total amount class members claim exceeds the available fund, the settlement administrator may reduce payments on a pro rata basis.

Why did this class action settlement happen?

The class action lawsuit claimed criminal third parties gained unauthorized access to Brandt Equities' network in November 2025, potentially exposing sensitive personal information. The plaintiffs alleged Brandt Equities LP failed to adequately protect this information.

The company denies any wrongdoing but agreed to settle to avoid the risks and costs of further litigation and to provide benefits to affected individuals.
