Nordstrom $834,375 Job Posting Class Action Settlement

Job seekers who applied for employment with Nordstrom Inc., Nordstrom International Ltd. or Nordstrom Restaurants Inc. in Washington state between Jan. 1, 2023, and July 26, 2025, may be eligible to receive $1,154.06 from a class action settlement.

Nordstrom agreed to pay $834,375 to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it failed to include required wage and benefit information in job postings for positions in Washington state.

Who are the class members?

Class members must meet the following criteria:

• They applied for a job posting in the state of Washington with Nordstrom Inc., Nordstrom International Ltd. or Nordstrom Restaurants Inc.
• They submitted the application between Jan. 1, 2023, and July 26, 2025.
• The job posting did not disclose a wage scale or salary range, and/or a general description of benefits and other compensation for the position.

How much can class members get?

Cash payment: Eligible class members will receive an equal share of the net settlement. The estimated payment is $1,154.06.

No claim form required

Class members do not need to file a claim to receive their settlement payment. They can submit an address update and payment election online using the LoginID and PIN from the settlement notice they received or by printing and completing the PDF address form and mailing or emailing it to the settlement administrator.

Settlement fund breakdown

The $834,375 settlement fund will include:

• Settlement administration costs: Up to $20,000
• Attorneys' fees: $278,125
• Attorneys' expenses: Up to $5,000
• Service award to class representative: $20,000
• Payments to eligible class members: Remaining settlement funds

When is the Nordstrom settlement payout date?

The settlement administrator will issue payments to eligible class members after the final approval hearing.

Why did this class action settlement happen?

This class action lawsuit alleged Nordstrom Inc. violated Washington’s pay transparency law (RCW 49.58.110) by not including wage scales, salary ranges or a general description of benefits and other compensation in job postings for positions in Washington.

Nordstrom Inc. denied any wrongdoing but agreed to settle the case to avoid the uncertainty and cost of ongoing litigation.
