Individuals who received a notice from First Chatham Bank stating a September 2024 data breach affected their private information may be eligible to claim an estimated $100 from a class action settlement.
First Chatham Bank agreed to pay $475,000 to resolve a class action lawsuit alleging it failed to adequately protect sensitive customer information, including names, addresses, dates of birth, driver’s license numbers, Social Security numbers, financial account numbers and payment card information. The lawsuit claimed this resulted in a targeted cyberattack on its computer systems.
Who can file a claim?
The class includes all living individuals residing in the United States whom First Chatham Bank sent a notice stating the September 2024 data incident impacted their private information.

The total settlement fund is $475,000. After deducting court-approved attorneys’ fees, service awards for the class representatives and administrative costs, the settlement administrator will distribute the remaining funds equally among all valid claimants. This is known as a pro rata distribution.
Each eligible class member who submits a valid claim will receive a cash payment. The estimated amount is $100, but the actual payment may be higher or lower depending on the number of valid claims submitted.
