Job seekers who applied for a job at Meathead Movers between Jan. 1, 2017, and 2026, may be eligible to claim a cash payment from a class action settlement.
Meathead Movers Inc. agreed to settle a class action lawsuit brought by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. The lawsuit alleged the company engaged in age discrimination in its hiring and recruitment practices, violating the Age Discrimination in Employment Act. The U.S. District Court for the Central District of California approved the settlement on Oct. 14, 2025.
Who can file a claim?
Individuals are eligible to participate in this settlement if they meet all of the following criteria:
- They applied for employment at Meathead Movers Inc. at any time between Jan. 1, 2017, and 2026.
- The company’s hiring or recruitment practices adversely affected them.
- Meathead Movers identified them as having applied during the claims period.
The claims process is open to all applicants, regardless of how many times they applied or whether Meathead ultimately hired them. The EEOC will use information provided in the claims questionnaire to determine eligibility and payment amounts.
How much is the Meathead Movers payout?
The total settlement payment fund is $2 million. The EEOC has sole discretion to decide who is eligible and how much each eligible person will receive. It will not retain any portion of the settlement fund.
The amount each eligible class member receives will depend on several factors:
- The total number of valid claims submitted
- The information provided in each claimant’s questionnaire, including how many times they applied and their experiences
The settlement administrator may adjust class member payment amounts if the number of claims exceeds the available fund.

Why did this class action settlement happen?

Meathead Movers denied wrongdoing but agreed to settle to resolve the claims and avoid further litigation.
