Dynatrace $700,000 Wage and Hour Class Action Settlement
Dynatrace $700,000 Wage and Hour Class Action Settlement

Employees who worked for Dynatrace between Oct. 29, 2022, and Nov. 19, 2025, may be eligible to claim a cash award from a class action settlement.

Dynatrace Inc. agreed to pay $700,000 to settle a class action lawsuit alleging violations of federal and state wage-and-hour laws, including claims it did not properly pay sales development representatives for overtime hours worked.

Who can file a claim?

The settlement covers individuals who:

  • Worked for Dynatrace Inc. in the United States as a sales development representative at any time between Oct. 29, 2022, and Nov. 19, 2025
  • Held one or more of the following job titles:
    • Sales development coordinator I
    • Sales development coordinator II
    • Sales development specialist
    • Sales development analyst II
    • Sales development analyst III
    • Sales development representative 1
    • Sales development representative 2
    • Sales development representative 3
    • Sales development representative 4
    • Senior sales development coordinator

Additionally, there are expanded eligibility periods for certain states:

  • Employees who worked as an SDR in California have an eligibility period from Oct. 29, 2021, through Nov. 19, 2025.
  • Employees who worked as an SDR in New York have an eligibility period from Oct. 29, 2019, through Nov. 19, 2025.

The class includes an estimated 135 individuals based on Dynatrace’s employment records.

For those who held multiple eligible job titles or worked in more than one state, the settlement administrator will combine their total eligible workweeks for the purposes of calculating their award.

How much can class members receive?

The amount each class member can receive from the settlement depends on the number of weeks they worked as a sales development representative during the relevant period and the state in which they worked. The total settlement fund is $700,000, which the settlement administrator will distribute among eligible claimants after deducting attorneys’ fees and costs, a service award to the class representative and administrative expenses.

The settlement administrator will calculate payments as follows:

  • Each week an employee worked as an SDR during the relevant period earns one point.
  • The settlement administrator totals the number of points for all claimants.
  • It then determines each member's share by dividing their points by the total points and multiplying by the net fund amount.

The settlement administrator treats half of each payment as wages (subject to payroll tax withholdings) and the other half as nonwage income (reported on IRS Form 1099-MISC, box 3, with no withholding).

If the total number of workweeks claimed exceeds the estimate by more than 7% (i.e., more than 10,206 workweeks), Dynatrace will increase the gross fund on a pro rata basis.
