Ford Transit Trail Vehicle Defect Class Action Settlement
Ford Transit Trail Vehicle Defect Class Action Settlement

Consumers who purchased or leased a new 2023 or 2024 Ford Transit Trail vehicle for personal, family, or household use before June 1, 2024, and have not already received compensation from Ford for that vehicle, may be eligible to submit a claim for a $6,000 cash payment from a class action settlement.

Ford Motor Co. has agreed to pay to settle a class action lawsuit alleging that certain Ford Transit Trail vehicles were sold or leased with defects related to the “Transit Trail” package. The plaintiff claims that these vehicles did not provide sufficient clearance for the tires within the wheel wells under certain driving conditions, potentially resulting in economic loss for consumers.

  • The vehicle was acquired directly from an Authorized Ford Dealer, or indirectly through an outfitter/upfitter or other intermediary that acquired the vehicle new for resale and/or vehicle conversion.

Why was there a class action settlement?

The class action lawsuit asserted that certain 2023 and 2024 Ford Transit Trail vehicles had defects in the “Transit Trail” package, specifically insufficient tire clearance in the wheel wells under certain driving conditions. The complaint alleged that these defects could result in economic loss.

Ford denies the allegations, however agreed to the settlement to avoid the uncertainty and expense of further litigation and a possible trial. The settlement does not affect vehicle owner rights under Ford’s new vehicle limited warranty or any recall remedies.
