
Individuals who received a notice that the June 2024 Belle Tire data breach may have compromised their personal information was compromised could be eligible to claim up to $1,000 from a class action settlement. The cybersecurity incident impacted an estimated 29,000 current and former employees.
Belle Tire Distributors Inc. agreed to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it experienced a cyberattack on its computer systems. The plaintiffs claimed Belle Tire failed to adequately protect sensitive customer data, which included names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers and driver’s license numbers.
Who can file a claim for a data breach payout?
Class members are individuals whose private information the data breach discovered by Belle Tire on or before June 11, 2024, exposed to unauthorized third parties.
How much are settlement payments?
Class members can claim one of the following benefits:
- Documented losses: Class members who experienced out-of-pocket losses as a result of the data breach can submit a claim to receive 150% of their documented expenses and losses up to $1,000. Eligible expenses include monetary losses due to identity theft or fraud; fees for credit reports, credit monitoring or freezing/unfreezing credit; costs to replace IDs; and postage for contacting financial institutions.
- Alternative pro rata cash compensation: Class members who do not submit a documented losses claim can submit a claim to receive a pro rata cash payment. The payment amount will be an equal share of a $75,000 fund determined by the number of claims filed.
How to claim a class action rebate
To receive a settlement payment, class members can file a claim online or print the PDF claim form to complete and mail to the settlement administrator.

Is proof/documentation required to submit a claim?
- To submit a claim online, class members must provide the unique ID and PIN from the settlement notice they received.
- Documented losses claims require supporting documentation, which may include receipts, invoices, bank or credit card statements showing unreimbursed fees or fraudulent charges, and other proof of expenses caused by the data breach.
