
Current and former patients and other individuals who used the appointment booking tool on the LiveHealth Online website or app between October 2024 and August 2025 may be eligible to submit a claim for an estimated $51.14 to $102.29 pro rata payment from a class action settlement. The settlement class includes approximately 252,478 individuals.
American Well Corp., known as Amwell, agreed to pay $2,037,751.46 to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it disclosed customers’ medical information and confidential communications to third parties without consent in violation of federal and California privacy laws.
Who can file a claim?
Class members are individuals residing in the United States who used the appointment booking tool on any of the following LiveHealth Online platforms between October 2024 and August 2025:
- LiveHealth Online website (livehealthonline.com)
- LiveHealth Online iOS app (available at https://apps.apple.com/us/app/livehealth-online-mobile/id597917484)
- LiveHealth Online Android app (available at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.americanwell.android.member.wellpoint)
How much are settlement payments?
Pro rata cash payment: Class members can submit a claim to receive a pro rata cash payment from the net settlement fund estimated to be between $51.14 and $102.29. The settlement administrator will determine the final payment amount by the total number of claims filed.
How to claim a class action rebate
To receive a settlement payment, class members can file a claim online or print and complete the PDF claim form and mail it to the settlement administrator.

When is the American Well Corp. settlement payout date?
The settlement administrator will issue payments to approved claimants approximately 75 days after the court grants final approval of the settlement.
Why did this class action settlement happen?
The class action lawsuit alleged Amwell disclosed customers’ medical information and confidential communications to third parties without consent. The complaint cited violations of the Federal Wiretap Act, the California Invasion of Privacy Act, the California Confidentiality of Medical Information Act, the California Constitution and common law.
Amwell denies the allegations but agreed to settle to avoid the risk and expense of ongoing litigation and a possible trial.
