Individuals who purchased Dr. Squatch products labeled as “natural” in the United States between Nov. 1, 2018, and Aug. 29, 2026, may be eligible to submit a claim for a cash payment from a class action settlement.

Dr. Squatch LLC agreed to pay $9 million to settle a class action lawsuit alleging the company misrepresented certain products as natural even though they may have contained synthetic ingredients.

Who can file a claim?

Class members are individuals who purchased a Dr. Squatch product from any retailer online or in-store in the United States labeled as "natural" between Nov. 1, 2018, and Aug. 29, 2026. Covered products include:

  • Men’s Natural Beard Oil
  • Men’s Natural Beard Oil & Cologne
  • Men’s Natural Lotion
  • Men’s Natural Body Wash
  • Men’s Natural Cologne
  • Men’s Natural Cologne Oil
  • Men’s Natural Conditioner
  • Men’s Natural Deodorant
  • Men’s Natural Face Wash
  • Men’s Natural Hand Sanitizer
  • Men’s Natural Hand Soap
  • Men’s Natural Lip Balm
  • Men’s Natural Lotion to Powder
  • Men’s Natural Post Shave
  • Men’s Natural Shampoo
  • Men’s Natural Shave Butter
  • Men’s Natural Toothpaste
  • Men’s Natural Wipes

Class members can submit only one claim per household.

How much are settlement payments?

Class members can receive $0.50 per eligible product and claim one or both of the following:

  • With proof of purchase: Class members with proof of purchase can claim up to 20 products for a maximum of $10.
  • No proof of purchase: Class members with no proof of purchase can claim up to five products for a maximum of $2.50.

Class members can combine claims with proof of purchase and without proof of purchase. They can claim up to 20 products with proof of purchase and up to five products with no proof of purchase for a maximum of $12.50.

How to claim a class action rebate

To receive a settlement payment, class members can file a claim online or print and complete the PDF claim form and mail it to the settlement administrator.

The claim deadline is Nov. 27, 2026.

Required proof

Proof of purchase claims require supporting documentation, which should include a point-of-purchase receipt from a third-party retailer (online or in-store) showing the products and date of purchase.

Settlement fund breakdown

The $9,000,000 settlement fund will include:

  • Settlement administration costs: Estimated at $475,000
  • Attorneys’ fees: Up to $3,000,000
  • Attorneys’ expenses: Up to $50,000
  • Service awards to class representatives: Up to $40,000 total
  • Payments to eligible claimants: Remaining settlement funds

Important dates

  • Deadline to opt out: Oct. 13, 2026
  • Deadline to file a claim: Nov. 27, 2026
  • Final approval hearing: March 2, 2027

When is the Dr. Squatch false advertising settlement payout date?

The settlement administrator will issue payments to approved claimants approximately 111 days after the court grants final approval of the settlement.

Why is there a class action settlement?

The class action lawsuit alleges Dr. Squatch LLC misrepresented certain products as natural even though they contained synthetic ingredients. The plaintiffs claimed this labeling misled consumers.

Dr. Squatch denies any wrongdoing but agreed to settle to avoid the expense and risk of continued litigation and a possible trial.
