Why is there a class action settlement?
This class action lawsuit alleged a security incident in October 2022 allowed an unauthorized third party to access an email secure gateway Barracuda Networks provided to Wescom Central Credit Union. The lawsuit alleged this potential exposed the private information of current and former credit union members.
Both Wescom and Barracuda Networks deny the allegations but agreed to settle to avoid the risk and expense of continued litigation and a possible trial.
