Who can file a claim?
Class members must meet all of the following criteria:
- They purchased one or more Arhaus products on the Arhaus website.
- They purchased the product(s) from the state of California.
- They made the purchase between April 2, 2020, and Sept. 18, 2024.
- The product they purchased displayed both a current sale price and a second, higher price (with or without a strikethrough).
- They have not received a refund or credit for their purchase(s).
How much can class members get?
Pro rata payment: Class members who submit a valid and timely claim form will receive a pro rata share of the net settlement fund after deductions for attorneys’ fees, litigation costs, a service award to the lead plaintiff and settlement administration costs.
The settlement administrator will calculate individual payments by dividing the total qualifying purchase amount by the total qualifying purchase amount of all claimants. It will then apply the resulting percentage to the net settlement amount to determine the class member's award.
No claimant can receive more than 50% of their total qualifying purchase amount even if the calculation would otherwise result in a higher payment.
For consumers who made more than one qualifying purchase, the settlement administrator will use the total qualifying purchase amount to determine their share of the settlement.

Why did this class action settlement happen?
The class action lawsuit alleged Arhaus Inc. used deceptive advertising practices by displaying fictitious original prices and advertising discounts from inflated reference prices that did not reflect actual prior sales. The plaintiffs claimed this misled customers into believing they received substantial discounts in violation of California’s unfair competition law, false advertising law and consumer legal remedies act.
Arhaus denied all allegations but agreed to settle to avoid the cost and burden of litigation.
