
Employees who scanned their finger or handprint on a timekeeping device while working for Ampac Holdings LLC or its related entities in Illinois between Feb. 12, 2020, and March 3, 2026, may be eligible to claim approximately $572.36 from a class action settlement.
Ampac Holdings LLC agreed to pay up to an estimated $350,707 to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it violated the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act by collecting employees’ biometric data without first providing required written notice and obtaining written consent.
Who can file a claim?
The settlement class includes all individuals who meet the following criteria:
- Ampac Holdings LLC or its related entities (including Ampac Flexicon LLC, Prairie State Group, Gateway Packaging Co. LLC or Ampac Flexibles LLC) employed them.
- They scanned a portion of a finger or handprint on a timekeeping device within the state of Illinois.
- The scan occurred between Feb. 12, 2020, and March 3, 2026.
- They did not provide written consent for the company to collect their biometric information before their first scan.
The class list is based on company records and includes both current and former employees who used the biometric timekeeping system during the relevant period.
How much can class members get?
Pro rata payment: The settlement administrator will distribute the net fund equally to all class members who submit valid claims. Each eligible class member will receive an estimated $572.36. This amount may vary depending on the number of valid claims submitted and the final deductions for attorneys’ fees and costs, service awards and administration costs.
How to claim a settlement payment
Eligible class members can file a claim online using the online claim form or download and print a PDF claim form, complete it and mail it to the settlement administrator. The claim deadline is June 15, 2026.

When is the Vega v. Ampac Holdings LLC payout date?
