Why is there a class action settlement?
The class action lawsuit was filed after AllTrust Networks and Aspire USA experienced a cybersecurity incident in February 2024, potentially exposing sensitive personal information belonging to several thousand people. Plaintiffs alleged negligence, breach of implied contract, unjust enrichment, and violations of California consumer protection laws.
The defendants deny the allegations but agreed to settle to avoid the expense and risk of continued litigation.
