What Happened?
On May 7, 2026, the University of Dallas discovered suspicious activity in its computer environment. After working with third-party cybersecurity specialists, the university determined that an unauthorized actor gained access to certain systems between Aug. 11, 2025, and Aug. 20, 2025. During this period, files containing sensitive personal information may have been accessed without permission.
The university completed a comprehensive review to identify the individuals and information involved. Written notice was sent to affected individuals beginning May 29, 2026.
Information Exposed:
- Names
- Social Security numbers
- Driver’s license numbers
- State-issued ID numbers
- Passport numbers
- Credit or debit card numbers
- Financial account numbers
- Medical information
- Health insurance information
The breach affected at least 7,313 individuals in Texas, with additional residents impacted in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont.
