What Happened?
On February 2, 2024, Silgan Holdings experienced a data breach that resulted in the exposure of sensitive consumer information. The breach was disclosed to the California, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire Attorneys General on April 25, 2025.
Types of information exposed:
- Social Security numbers
- Driver’s license information
Reports indicate that at least 19 individuals in Massachusetts and 2 individuals in New Hampshire were affected, but the breach may have impacted others as well. Silgan Dispensing notified affected individuals and is offering 24 months of complimentary credit monitoring through Experian. To date, the company has stated it is unaware of any actual misuse of the information but is notifying individuals out of an abundance of caution.
