Aspen Title & Escrow, LLC, a Knoxville-based title insurance and closing services provider, recently reported a data breach that has so far impacted four in Massachusetts and two in New Hampshire.

The incident was disclosed to state authorities starting on March 12, 2026, including the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation and the New Hampshire Attorney General.

The breach stemmed from a network disruption that first occurred on Aug. 11, 2025, and recurred on Aug. 28, 2025. Unauthorized access to certain systems was confirmed during these incidents.

Aspen Title & Escrow began an investigation with the help of third-party computer forensic specialists and notified law enforcement. Their investigation revealed that some information stored on the company’s network was accessed without authorization.

After a thorough review, the company determined that the compromised data included first and last names, Social Security numbers and financial account information.

The company spent several months reviewing the impacted data and identifying affected individuals. By Feb. 2, 2026, Aspen Title & Escrow had completed this process and began notifying those whose information may have been exposed.

Aspen Title & Escrow's response

To support those affected, Aspen Title & Escrow is offering complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection services for up to 24 months, depending on the state. Impacted individuals received instructions on how to enroll in these services at no cost.

Those who may be affected are strongly encouraged to take advantage of the free credit monitoring services and to remain vigilant by reviewing credit reports and financial account statements for any suspicious activity.

The company’s notification letters also provide detailed steps for placing fraud alerts or credit freezes with the major credit bureaus, as well as resources for reporting suspected identity theft.
